Review: I Don't Like It!!!

I've been a fan of NYX Cosmetics for a LOOOONG time! They're products are amazing; especially their eye/ brow stuff. HUGE fan! But I recently purchased something that I belive to be less than satisfactory and that is their HD Studio Photogenic Foundation:
I admit, the name drew me in! When I saw the "HD" I immediately associated it with Makeup Forever's HD Foundation )which btw, is PHENOMENAL!) I was so excited to try this when I got home.
Things immediately turned sour when I realized that someone had switched the packaging and the color that I got was much too light for me, but being the magyver that Iam, decided to mix it with another NYX foundation that I had ( which I had absolutely no prblem with)
All was well until I started to layer the foundation on. It almost IMMEDIATELY started to look chalky!
Also, it made my skin look VERY dry.
Overall, NOT A FAN!!! I will definitely not be purchasing this again!
My recomendation: Steer clear of this product!

Coming up...

I have yet to see the Black Swan (sad face) but i've heard some great things!
I know many youtube gurus have done a look based on the movie, but I want to do my own interpretation.

I hope to have the look uploaded tomorrow, or within the coming week. Firts, I have to practice! wish me luck!

Are smoky eyes overrated?

Now, don't get me wrong. I, like any other girl LOVE a smoky eye, buuuuuuuut I find black smoky eyes to be hideous! They seem so.... Trashy!
They're good for going out on the town, but other than that, NO.
So, I decided to try doing a black smoky look (since I have never tried it on myself before)
This is what I came up with:

I actually REALLY like it. It's not something i'd wear everyday. (i'm more of a neutral browns and purples kind of gal) but this is something I could definitely rock on a special occasion!

Slytherin

As many people already know, I LOVE the Harry Potter series. I however, am a Slytherin at heart!
I don't know what attracts me to the "Baddest House at Hogwarts", juts some strange appeal, I guess.
Anyway, For the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 premiere, I decided to do a look based on the badass snake lovers.
This is what I came up with:

It's not SUPER dramatic, but I still happen to LOVE it.
I love this look. it's so simple, yet dramatic.
It must be the vivid green (:

Na'vi Girl

Today, I watched Avatar for the FIRST time! (yeah yeah, I know i'm late on the Avatar craze!) The film itself was alright, but the makeup was just PHENOMENAL! Being myself, I got super inspired to do a look based on the Na'vi people.
Heres the look:

I'am SUPER happy with how this came out! It almost looks professional!
I cannot wait to try out more costume looks. They are by far my favorite type of makeup.

Just Call me the Queen

Just Call me the Queen of Hearts bb!
As many people probably know, Alice in Wonderland is my absolute FAVORITE movie. (not the Tim Burton one, the Disney cartoon one!)
I decided to do a makeup look on the Tim Burton film because the Queen from the cartoon version was just so..... BLAH!

This look is pretty basic, although it was incredibly hard to get the white face makeup perfect!
It kept drying really fast on my skin, and it was just a NIGHTMARE.
Well, for my first attempt at dramatic costume makeup, I must say I;m really happy with how this turned out!
